CROSS-REIS Business Forum 2026: Renewable Horizons – Unlocking the Potential of Innovation for a Green Economy

The CROSS-REIS project is pleased to announce the upcoming Business Forum 2026, entitled “Renewable Horizons: Unlocking the Potential of Innovation for a Green Economy,” which will take place on 17 June 2026 at Hotel Ambasador in Opatija, Croatia.

Organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, within the Horizon Europe CROSS-REIS project, the Forum will bring together representatives of academia, industry, government, and innovation ecosystems to discuss how innovation, governance, and cross-sector partnerships can accelerate the transition toward a sustainable and regenerative economy.

As part of the CROSS-REIS activities dedicated to strengthening collaboration between research, business, and public stakeholders, the event aims to foster dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of green transition, while showcasing practical examples of innovation-driven sustainability.

The programme will feature a keynote lecture by Tomasz Kozluk, Head of Going for Growth at the OECD Economics Department, who will present insights on the relationship between environmental policies and productivity growth across industries and firms.

The Forum will continue with a series of thematic panels addressing key dimensions of the green transition:

  •    Building Regenerative Innovation Ecosystems – exploring lessons from European research and industry collaboration;
  •    From Green Policies to Regional Action – focusing on governance, partnerships, and regional development strategies;
  •    Innovators Driving the Green Economy – presenting technologies, solutions, and emerging business models;
  •    From Strategy to Practice – examining how companies integrate sustainability and regeneration into their core operations.

The event will conclude with reflections on future directions for green innovation ecosystems and cross-sector collaboration, delivered by Carlo Sessa, Member of the Executive Board of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA).

By bringing together policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and innovation experts, the Business Forum seeks to strengthen regional and international cooperation while contributing to the development of regenerative innovation ecosystems across Europe.
